My Thoughts On The Holidays

There's a good handful of holidays that are celebrated throughout the standard American calendar. Some are better than others. This isn't really my opinion (probably) since there's some pretty solid evidence that some holidays are more favored by society than others. All holidays are good, though, since they either celebrate something nice, or at the very least, benefit the people celebrating with gifts or joy of some type. At the very, very least, holidays should be enjoyable, even if you don't necessarily celebrate them.
The big holidays are obviously the favorites, like Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Thanksgiving, those sorts of things. Everyone knows about them, even if not everyone celebrates them, and there's usually a general period of festivity instead of the 'one day and you're done' type of thing. The one-day holidays just sort of get the short end of the stick. Frankly, I think it's pretty annoying that Halloween gets more or less a whole season dedicated to it, and things like Memorial Day or the other one-day holidays that actually celebrate something relevant are limited to being only one day. It's just a little unfair to me. Maybe it's just that I dislike Halloween. I think it's a pretty lame holiday, but that's just me. This isn't a rant about Halloween, so on that note, I'm signing off. See you next time.
